This unit provides a deep dive into the critical aspects of software quality, from both a product and process perspective. Students will learn the foundational concepts of software reliability and quality management, and then apply these principles using industry-recognized frameworks. The course covers quantitative and qualitative methods for ensuring software quality, equipping students with the tools to build more predictable, efficient, and reliable software. A key focus will be on understanding how individual practices, through the Personal Software Process (PSP), can directly contribute to organizational-level maturity as defined by the SEI Capability Maturity Model (CMMI).
