Course Description
The Linear Integrated Circuits course focuses on the analysis, design, and application of analog integrated circuits widely used in electronic systems. The course provides a strong foundation in operational amplifiers (Op-Amps), waveform generators, active filters, oscillators, voltage regulators, and special-purpose linear ICs.
Students will learn the internal structure and characteristics of Op-Amps, including ideal and practical parameters such as gain, bandwidth, slew rate, CMRR, and input offset voltage. The course covers various Op-Amp configurations such as inverting, non-inverting, integrator, differentiator, summing amplifier, and instrumentation amplifier circuits.
The subject also includes the design and analysis of active filters (low-pass, high-pass, band-pass, and band-stop), sinusoidal and non-sinusoidal oscillators, and waveform generation circuits. Special emphasis is given to widely used ICs such as the 555 timer and Phase Locked Loop (PLL).
