Indian writing in English (IWE) refers to creative literature written in English by authors of Indian origin, both from within India and the diaspora. This literary tradition began to take shape in the late 18th and early 19th centuries and is now a significant part of world literature, reflecting Indian culture, history, and modern experiences.
